About This Project

“Internet is not a luxury. It is a necessity. Especially for refugees with a very difficult legal situation.”

(Chu Eben, founder of Refugees Emancipation e.V.)

For more than 15 years Refugees Emancipation has campaigned for and managed to install internet access and spaces of exchange and learning. In particular in places where refugees are not admitted free internet access. Refugees Emancipation is one of the oldest institutions of refugee selforganisation in Berlin-Brandenburg. Its latest achievement is the Refugees Emancipation Women’s Space in Marzahn (a collaboration with the Hellersdorf municipality).

There’s a very active and well-functioning supporters-group around Refugees Emancipation. Among others, Chaos Computer Club have supported their goals. Get active yourself and join the supporter group!
